Modesto hook

Hard to keep up with all the new hooks coming in.

Los Angeles button hook/cigar cutter/bottle opener combo

No end to the variations in design for button hooks, including combination devices such as this one. These combo hooks seem mostly to hail from the Mid-West or back east. I believe I have one - possibly two - other combo hooks from the Western States.

Kast's Shoes San Francisco & Oakland

Been a while since I posted a new San Francisco hook. Found this kind of by chance just today. This company produced numerous Victorian trade cards advertising their place of business, but this is the first hook I've come across in my search.

too many to list

Sorry computer issues remain sketchy at best. However dozens of button hooks have been added to the collection the past six months. Computer issues remained up in the air for months and now serious medical issues have again added a lack of time to posting updates.

internet meltdown

Sorry to all my non-existent followers. Computer blew up and the internet has been sporadically accessed at best. New hooks are still coming in to the collection. Will try to post as soon as I've got things back up and running. Unable to post any pics so I will wait until I can update with photos.

try finding one of these

I won this advertising boot pull about a year ago. This is the only advertising boot pull I've seen so far. I'd estimate there are about a thousand advert hooks for every advert pull out there.

lot of 3 hooks: 2 Nevada Hooks + one junker

Expanding the small Nevada portion of my collection. Had to bid these up during the last hour or so of the auction.

A shot from the seller's ebay description. The hooks haven't yet arrived in the mail. Seem to be mostly from Oregon.

sniped and skunked

One has to be ever-vigilant. I grew complacent having waited on the last several auctions I won during the last 5 minutes until close. I had won all these auctions without incident. Yesterday I figured I had won another hook and got up to take care of business with a minute to go. Sure enough I got back and looked for my "win". It wasn't there. Some Colorado collector sniped me during the last 2 seconds before the auction closed. I won the next auction I was bidding on... lesson learned. Never grow complacent!
